Definition of Orthodontics
Orthodontics is a branch of dentistry specialized in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of dental and facial irregularities.
Orthodontics before and after
Today in our specialty there is no age limit to start an orthodontic treatment. In other words, a treatment can be done in a child, in a teenager and in an adult. It is recommended that children have an orthodontic check before 7 years. Some orthodontic problems are more easily corrected if early treatment is performed. The correct monitoring of maxillary bone growth is essential for good orthodontic treatment. Waiting until the appearance of the final teeth can make the orthodontic treatment more complicated. It is called ORTHOPEDIC TREATMENT and we can avoid serious dysplasia and even avoid surgery.
Crooked teeth and in bad position are difficult to clean and maintain in good health. This can contribute to the occurrence of tooth cavities, gum disease and tooth loss.
Other problems that can appear with a dental malocclusion are a bad oral function leading to wearing off of the teeth and problems of the temporo-mandibular joint.
With our teeth in it’s place, we see a clear improvement in the dental health of our patients.
Latest Trends: Invisible Orthodontics
Nowadays, dentistry has evolved to the point where we can already have a beautiful smile and at the same time get an orthodontic treatment. This is achieved thanks to the invisible orthodontic method, also known as Invisalign.
